LAYER YOUR CLOTHES IN WINTERS

LAYER YOUR CLOTHES IN WINTERS
Its chilly everywhere. Curb the chill and do it in style. When the weather gets colder, the fancier and more fashionable coats, jackets, capes, boots should be. So wrap yourself up with our wide array of outerwear, from edgy jackets to sophisticated furry coats. The evenings are drawing in and so it's time to de-hibernate your woolens. But if piling on the layers comes with the fear of looking like an urban yeti, then worry not. We've dissected our favorite layered looks from the street style set to show you how to keep your cold snap looks sleek, chic and streamlined.

Double up on outerwear is a good choice when you still love to put on your summer clothes. Your summer jacket isn't off bounds for winter - a denim or leather jacket is a great base for under a long trench when the cold really hits home. Also I love to invest in over-the-knee boots, has always been my first preference especially in winters. All those slinky wrap skirts and culottes you bought for summer are still in style, so to take them into winter without catching a chill, a pair of over the knee  or even thigh high boots - are just the thing. They look sexier than tights by far and much warmer.

The street style set turned layering on its head at the spring / summer 16 shows, teaching us it's all about mixing and matching different textures and lengths. Be playful to follow suit - but the golden rule for this one is to stick to a minimal palette. This technique is pretty much easy to do if you’re willing to look outside of the box and take style risks. Not to mention it has the added bonus of extending the versatility of the wardrobe you already have.  mixing textures and prints can be a daunting task, which often results in wrong combinations that don’t look that good. This is why most people say they’d never do it. But seriously, with lots of practice and if done correctly you can get out of your comfort zone and mount amazing looks using the technique of Mix n Match.

When you want to stay warm without swapping your entire outfit, a classic cape is your go-to - you'll still be able to juggle your clutch underneath and show off what's underneath. Capes have become one of the coolest cover ups on catwalk and on the high street. A favorite among us fashion folk, the cape is one chic piece that can do wonders for the simplest outfit, transforming a casual look into an altogether cooler outfit in seconds. Cosy knits can be chic . If you are worried your utilitarian shirt dress will wash out your waist, the simple solution is to belt it. Look out for one with loops so you have the option to twist it though.
